Playbuilder Scheme

Published: 2 June 2010

The Lady Mayoress officially opened two children’s play areas in the Ward.  The aim of the Government’s Playbuilder Scheme is to provide high quality natural play areas (using trees, wood, water, grass and rocks), for children aged between 8 > 13 years of age, that is challenging as well as relaxing.

Sadly, it rained on the day, but neither the Lady Mayoress nor the children attending were deterred by the weather. Portsoken Street is the site of an area created to inspire the imagination of younger children, while at Tower Hill Gardens a more adventurous environment has been created for the higher age group.  Hopefully to be much used by resident, local school and visiting children - we wish them all hours of fun!
